Faculty Positions

The Nanyang Assistant Professorship (NAP) scheme provides an opportunity for outstanding early-career researchers and scholars from Singapore and around the world who wish to build an academic career with us at NTU. Successful NAP awardees will be offered a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment and awarded a substantial start-up grant (SUG) to lay the foundation for their research ventures at the university.

We are particularly interested in passionate scholars with expertise in AI Communication, Digital Humanities and Information Studies. Candidates should have obtained a PhD (or equivalent) within the last 10 years, demonstrate a strong track record of early achievements, and show the potential to lead independent research.

Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore invites Full Professors from overseas universities or research institutions to join us as Visiting Professor.

As a Visiting Professor at WKWSCI, your role includes teaching and mentoring students, carry out research related activities, including but not limiting to conduct research talks, workshops, usually for a semester or an academic year.

Applications from June to July 2021, will be considered for the semester starting in January 2022*. Applications from January to February 2022, will be considered for the semester starting in August 2022*.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)  in Human AI Communication
Academic expertise in one or more of the following areas: human-machine interaction, AI-mediated communication, communication and emerging technologies, ethical and societal implications of AI in communication, or the role of AI in interpersonal, organisational, or mass communication contexts.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Public Relations
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: public relations strategies across various digital platforms, corporate communication, organisational communication, advertising, the impact of digital and virtual influencers, or crisis communication in the digital era involving, but not limited to, how organisations handle crises, engage in image repair, and respond to online falsehoods.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Digital Humanities (IS)
Scholarly expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital humanities, data-driven cultural or historical analysis, computational methods in the humanities, digital archives and preservation, critical data studies, or the societal and cultural impacts of digital technologies.

Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in  Science/ Business Journalism
Expertise at the intersection between journalism and new technologies, such as, but not limited to: automation in journalism, audience analytics, social media, big data, and emerging narrative formats like virtual reality.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Information Science or Knowledge Management
Research expertise in the field of information science with experience in one or more of the following primary areas: library science and technology, data, text and social media analytics, human-computer and AI interaction, informetrics, digital curation and preservation, information organisation and management, and human information behaviour.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)  in  Environmental Communication
Scholarly expertise in one or more of the following areas: environmental communication, sustainability communication, and/or risk communication.
